The M.Sc. in applied geology program is a graduate-level academic program that focuses on the practical application of geological principles and techniques in solving real-world problems. Students also the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and research projects. Program goals The goal of the 2-year M.Sc. in Applied Geology program is to produce highly skilled geologists with specialized knowledge on Mineral Exploration, Sub-surface modelling, Fossil fuel and Ground water exploration, Drilling, estimation of resources and site investigation
Admission to MSc in Applied Geology at IIPE requires a Bachelor’s degree in Geology (or related ields) with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD), valid IIT JAM (Geology) scores, and 10+2 level mathematics. Candidates must have studied Geology for three years/six semesters and, typically, two subjects among Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Biological Science. Final-year students are eligible, provided they meet minimum requirements and submit proof of passing by the designated deadline.
Reservation Policy in admissions as per the Government of India directives and at par with IITs will be applicable. The certificate of the category (OBC / SC / ST / EWS) must be submitted during the admission process wherever applicable. In the case of OBC/ EWS, this category certificate must be issued by a competent authority not a rank lower than Tahsildar on or after April 01, 2025.

Payment & Submission Pay the application fee through the online payment gateway and submit the application. |

Print Application After the final submission of your online application, you can generate and download your application print containing your specific details/data. This printout should be retained for future reference. |

If any students withdraws from hostel, only hostel caution deposit paid by the students will be refunded at the time of leaving the institute.
Visakhapatnam is the only Legal Jurisdiction for any dispute arising on the eve of admissions into IIPE. In case, if it is the High Court, Andhra Pradesh Hon'ble High Court at Amaravathi is the legal jurisdiction.
